Reduces Pain and Accelerates Healing
The results found when using AdiLight-2 shows to be a beneficial add-on to the commonly used platelet rich plasma procedures in orthopedic and sports medicine procedures. One of the largest clinical concerns for patients when using PRP, in musculoskeletal healing, is the exacerbation of pain in the injected area post treatment. Peripheral Blood White Blood Cells
For many years medical specialists in Eastern Europe and Korea have been using photoactivation for blood products, in vitro and in vivo, with various frequencies of light for immunomodulation in patients. When white blood cells (WBC) from the peripheral blood are photoactivated under AdiLight-2 for 10 minutes, pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL1, IL2, IL6 and TNFalpha) are inhibited and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL1Ra and IL10) are induced as well as the observation of beta endorphin release. This is a highly desired response when pathophysiological conditions resulting from chronic inflammation states and irritation are considered.
Mesenchyme Stem Cells
When adipose-derived mesenchyme stem cells are extracted from an individual the cells are in a dormant state, due to lack of physiological activation. In the body, stem cells and progenitor cells are activated by a detailed and complex physiological cascade repair system, such as during the release of growth factor and chemokines from platelets, such as in the case of injury. When the adipose-derived stem cells are photoactivated for 20 minutes with the AdiLight-2 device they show increased release of signaling factors such as integrins, vascular endothelial growth factor, thymosin beta 4 and interleukin 1 receptor antagonist. Therefore, AdiLight-2 is of importance in providing consistent clinical results, especially amongst age variations and degree of regeneration needed.

AdiStem Ltd. has mastered through research the effects of various monochromatic light intensities and frequencies of the colored spectrum on various human and animal cell. Such studies were focused on mesenchyme stem cells and white blood cells, responsible for regeneration and the healing cascade. Low-level light photoactivation, or photomodulation, has been shown to have significant benefit in the biomechanics of tissue regeneration and the healing process. The low light frequencies used in the Adilight activates and induces the release of growth factors and cytokines, or signaling factors, to assist in proliferation and differentiation of living cell organisms.
Using the proper wavelength or bandwidth of wavelengths is a vital factor in selective photomodulation. The various components of light exposure, such as pulsated verse continuous, intensity, duration or frequency of pulses/exposure, are all factors which can effect the activation and stimulation of the desired components in cells. Please note that the presence or absence of cofactors, enzymes or catalysts, may effect (enhance or inhibit) the product of photomodulation.
In essence, when considering the delicacy of photoactivation and the various factors able to be manipulated, we come up with numerous “biological active spectral intervals”.
